Team Zizz is a charitable community of donators passionate about the work of Len Lye.

Spearheaded by the Len Lye Foundation, Team Zizz is a charitable community of donators passionate about the work of Len Lye and the value it has added, and will continue to add, to the Taranaki region.

Its grand, 10-year-vision is to bring more of Len Lye’s kinetic works to the Govett Brewster Art Gallery/Len Lye Centre, and spread them further afield around New Plymouth and surrounding areas, eventually developing a Len Lye Walk through the New Plymouth CBD.

Through many generous donations from Team Zizz members to date, the group has successfully raised $150,000 to engineer three of Lye’s kinetic sculptures. These will be unveiled at the gallery over the next three years, starting with Dancing Wands, in December 2018.

The next stage of fundraising will go towards the construction of Blade in 2020, which will have the ability to be relocated to various outdoor settings around the community.

At the heart of Team Zizz, is a desire to realise many of the bold and ambitious kinetic works Len Lye designed, with the 21st century in mind. The group is also about making the most of the incredible gift Lye’s portfolio of work is to the Taranaki region. Its mission is to embrace that gift, and use it to support one of Taranaki’s fastest growing industries – tourism.
